The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Co-chairman Ken Levin.
The March minutes will be approved at the May meeting due to lack of a quorum of members who attended the March meeting.

1. Public Open Forum – Sabrina Foulke, Point One Architects, 85 Lyme Street (Old Lyme Inn)
Plans were presented to move the location of a door at the rear of the Inn. A small attached shed had been removed by the contractor from the back of the building. No CofA is needed: The changes were and will not be visible from Lyme Street; the building’s footprint will not change. Ms. Foulke said she would inquire about any signage updates at the Inn and let the Kitchings know that the HDC needs to approve all signage before installation.

2.  Plaque Program update – Martha Hansen
24 Lyme Street: The building was built ca. 1930 as “The Economy Store.” Contact Jim Elliot.
45 Lyme Street: The 1817 map will be checked this month to confirm the date of construction (thought to be built by Simon Whipp in 1837).
60 Lyme Street: the plaque “James F Bugbee Store ca. 1897” has been installed.
12 Ferry Road: David Kelsey will be contacted again.
13 Academy Lane: Ned Perkins is doing the research.
20 Ferry Road: Martha Hansen and Pamela Hamilton are doing the research. The house is thought to have been built by Samuel Hill ca. 1775.
85 Lyme Street: Martha Hansen will contact Chris Kitchings regarding a plaque for the Old Lyme Inn.
173 Mile Creek: Vladimir Ashworth is interested in a plaque. Martha Hansen will start the research.
209 Boston Post Road: Martha Hansen is helping George James with the research.
100 Lyme Street: John Forbis will contact Linnea Ruffo concerning a plaque for the Bee & Thistle Inn.

3. Business News & Secretary’s Report – Martha Hansen
Marilyn Giuliano is looking into the Scenic Road application. Bonnie Reemsnyder has been informed of the inquiry. HDC members have been invited to the LACFA Senior Exhibit on April 13, 2012.

4. Any other new or old business
a) 21 Lyme Street update: The dumpster remains in the driveway. The garage doors have not been installed.
Action: Contact Bonnie Reemsnyder about Old Lyme’s anti-blight ordinance/commission (Martha Hansen).
b) The CTK Church plans to install handrails to steps at the rear of the rectory at 1 McCurdy Road. The handrails will not be visible from McCurdy Road

5. Adjournment
Ken Levin made a motion, seconded by John Forbis, to adjourn the meeting at 10:40 a.m. All present voted in favor. Motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,

 Martha Hansen
